As a teammate, you will gain hands-on experience working on meaningful projects, network with engineers across the organization, learn what it is like to be an engineer at Bridgestone, and make a lasting impact while developing lifelong skills and competencies to elevate your future career.The Industrial Engineering position focuses on optimizing the interconnected components of a manufacturing system (e.g., personnel workflow/ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence, and equipment layouts, etc.).An Industrial Engineering Co-op position applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and must be able to explain facts, policies and practices related to the job area.ResponsibilitiesIndustrial Engineering co-ops typically:Work on problems of limited scope and contributes on projects or processes while receiving detailed instructions from higher level professionalsEstablish methods of maximum utilization of production facilities and personnelConduct cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methodsAssist manufacturing plant/facilities engineers with facility planning and designYou will also get to:Apply interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with fellow teammates and achieve common goalsWork in a hands-on environment with cross functional teamsUtilize project management skills to develop, manage, and control scope, schedule and costWe are looking for students who are:Highly motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionPeople-centric focus with ability to collaborate with all teammates across the organizationStrong initiative, work ethic and levels of enthusiasmDemonstrated technical aptitude in major of studyExcellent communication and presentation skillsMinimum QualificationsTo thrive in this role, you need---To be pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or another applicable major and actively enrolled in an accredited universityTo be sophomore-senior level standing with a GPA of at least 3.0Completed course work in Computer Aided Design (CAD)/AutoCADTo be available to work 40 hours weekly in a 6-month minimum co-op assignmentNo other work experience is required.
