MINIMUM PAY RATE: $53,670.00 annually

Joliet Junior College is an AA/EO employer and strongly encourages applications from candidates who would enhance the diversity of its staff.POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for providing case management, participant support services, intake and assessment of participants' needs, participant data management and reporting, advising, registration and training of Workforce Equity Initiative program participants. Coordinate barrier reduction services which may include, but are not limited to: transportation costs, childcare, technology assistance, driver's education, personal health services, emergency bill payments, legal assistance and tutoring. Develop a tool for assessing potential barriers to be administered during participant intake. Assess participants' barriers to success and partner with Training Coordinator to design individualized barrier reduction plans for participants. Collaborate with campus partners and community-based organizations to coordinate referral and enrollment in barrier reduction services. Provide program completers with barrier reduction services for up to one year after completion to ensure successful transition to employment and job retention.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Interview WEI program applicants and determine eligibility for assistance according to grant rules and regulations. Maintain confidentiality of records.2. Coordinate all barrier reduction services for WEI program participants to increase retention, training completion and transition to employment.3. Establish partnerships with on-campus service providers and external community-based organizations to provide participants with barrier reduction services.4. Schedule and conduct orientation sessions, informing participants of their responsibilities and rights in CEJA grant programs.5. Collaborate with academic student support partners including Disability Services and the Tutoring & Learning Center to support participant academic success.6. Develop a tool for assessing participants' barriers to training and employment success during program intake. Collaborate with WEI Manager to administer assessment and design individualized barrier reduction plans for participants.7. Monitor training program and required activity attendance and academic performance, conduct follow-up and recommend action plans for participants. Monitor utilization and effectiveness of barrier reduction services.8. Evaluate effectiveness of barrier reduction services and recommend changes to service providers and/or procedures as needed in order to meet performance measures. Monitor progress and take corrective actions as needed.9. Maintain financial records for barrier reduction services including: creating and recording spend authorizations and expense reports, review of computer-generated reports, account/department analysis and/or reconciliations. Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with College accounting, board policies and grant requirements.10. Host make-up sessions or post-assessment retakes and coordinate tutoring services for participants.11. Track participant enrollment in and utilization of barrier reduction services to ensure accurate records for grant reporting and maintain grant compliance.12. Uphold core values of diversity, inclusion, accessibility and equity to increase access, enrollment and completion for program eligible persons.13. Maintain high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.14. Perform other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.2. Demonstrated successful experience working with people experiencing barriers to education and/or employment.3. Strong interpersonal, communication, time, project management and organizational skills.4. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some evening and/or weekend hours required.5. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.6. Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1. Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field with LCSW/LCPC highly desirable.2. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.3. Demonstrated multicultural competence.PHYSICAL DEMANDS1. Normal office physical demands.2. Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.3. Ability to work occasional weekend or evening hours.WORKING CONDITIONS1. Duties are performed on the main campus and extended campuses; ability to work at all JJC locations required.2.
