Job Title: Network Test Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Network Test Engineer to join our team in Peoria, IL. The ideal candidate will have experience in Linux-based network testing, hardware setup, and system-level testing/debugging. This role involves evaluating network protocols, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and ensuring the robustness of network solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform system-level testing and debugging of networking solutions.
Set up and configure network hardware and test environments.
Validate networking protocols and troubleshoot performance issues.
Work closely with development teams to identify and resolve defects.
Develop and execute test cases, scripts, and automation where applicable.
Document test results, report issues, and support continuous improvement efforts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

3-7 years of experience in network/system testing.
Strong knowledge of Linux and its networking stack.
Hands-on experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, VLAN, VPN, etc.).
Expertise in hardware setup, configuration, and debugging.
Experience with test automation and scripting (Python, Shell, or similar).
Familiarity with network diagnostic tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in cloud networking or software-defined networking (SDN).
Knowledge of containerized networking (Docker, Kubernetes).
Exposure to embedded networking or real-time systems.
