  • Job Details
  • General job duties include assessments every 4 hours, medication administration, reassessment of interventions, ADL support, blood administration, applying back and neck braces, G-tube feeding, IV insertion and maintenance, central line use and maintenance, pain management, dressing changes, oral care, turning, and restraints.
  • Types of patients include those with neck and back spinal surgery, stroke, brain tumors, seizures, head injuries, MS, Myasthenia Gravis, peripheral neuropathy, encephalopathy, and spinal fractures.
  • Equipment utilized includes EPIC, Vocera, Pyxis, and no lift equipment in all but 5 rooms.
    • Job Requirements
    • Required skills include a minimum of 2 years Med/Surg Neuro experience.
    • Specific licensures and certifications required include RN, BLS, and NIHSS certification (required).
      • Schedule Information
      • 12 hour shifts, three days a week.
      • Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday on Day Shift and either Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday on Night Shift).
      • Every other Holiday (Days holidays include Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day).
      • Nights holidays include Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, Memorial Day Eve, the 3rd of July Nights, and Labor Day Eve.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Could float to another general/med unit (Nephrology, Oncology, Ortho, Adult Medical Surgical, Surgical, Rehab, Cardiac 5 G).
        • General medical units that any of our staff could float to.
